Una de las colecciones más importantes del inmenso catálogo de Trojan,

“The Trojan Story” cambió drásticamente la percepción de la música jamaicana entre el público británico antes de su lanzamiento en 1971, nunca se había intentado presentar una antología completa del desarrollo musical de la isla, con Ska ,Rocksteady y reggae ,en su momento eran considerados obsoletos y de muy poco mérito.

Trojan Story, se convirtió en un éxito instantáneo.

La idea original fue del gerente del sello discográfico y fanático de la música negra, Rob Bell además de contar con la ayuda de Dandy, Webster Shrowder y Joe Sinclair, se produjo posiblemente la obra jamaicana más importante en cuestión de retrospectivas musicales.

Ahora, 50 años después de su lanzamiento original, Bell, junto con el músico de reggae, Rusty Zinn, han revisado este álbum de gran influencia, quienes han logrado mejorar lo que ya era una colección casi perfecta.

Lanzado inicialmente como álbum en doble formato Vinyl, posiblemente es la mejor recopilación de Desmond Dekker disponible actualmente.

Tantas canciones inolvidables que datan del período entre 1965-1971, y fueron producidas a la perfección por el fallecido gran Lesley Kong.

Dekker, fue bendecido con una de las voces más distintivas, también es una de las más emotivas. Desde vehementemente hasta dolorosamente, delicada la interpretación del vocalista nunca fue menos que brillante. Sin embargo, lamentablemente, la historia ha descuidado a Los Ases de sus propios talentos extraordinarios y armonías sublimes que proporcionaron la columna vertebral de todas estas canciones, y muchas, muchas más .

El igual (o mejor) de cualquiera de los grupos vocales más famosos de Jamaica, deléitese con la belleza de su canto,

Diecinueve éxitos de Dekker esta re edición contiene una buena remasterización, aunque algunos temas dentro del compilatorio dejaron mucho que desear en cuestión de calidad (un hecho lamentable en muchas grabaciones jamaicanas), aún así, seguramente Trojan tenía una copia menos crepitante de “Pretty Africa” inevitablemente, esta compilación simplemente abrirá mas su apetito su apetito musical por Dekker & The Aces .

I Love the Reggay! Early Reggae Sounds from Randy’s Records

Vincent y Pat Chin tuvieron presencia desde a finales de los años 50s hasta finales de lo años sesenta pasando por la era dorada del Ska & Rocksteady

En 1966, los propietarios de Randy’s Records,decidieron expandir su negocio construyendo un estudio de grabación sobre la famosa tienda Randy’s Record Mart en la calle 17 North Parade, en Kingston.

Durante este periodo, se produjeron numerosas grabaciones en las nuevas instalaciones, principalmente producciones de B.B Seaton fundador de Los Gaylads.

Un interesante compilatorio donde se dan muestras de las primeras grabaciones de reggae bajo el sello de Randys que incluye 17 pistas que hacen su debut en CD entre temas asesinos instrumentales y versiones toasting de Dave Barker & Count Machuky y desde luego clásicos temas de Los Gaylads en su época del Reggae .
