Aclamado como el Padrino del Ska, Laurel Aitken domin\u00f3 la industria discogr\u00e1fica de Jamaica durante su infancia, disfrutando de una serie de \u00e9xitos de mento y R&B jamaicano muy populares durante la segunda mitad de la d\u00e9cada de 1950. A principios de la d\u00e9cada siguiente se mud\u00f3 a Londres, donde, durante los a\u00f1os que le siguieron, grab\u00f3 en cada en cada sello discogr\u00e1fico.<\/p>\n

Si bien sus grabaciones constantes de skaaseguraron que Laurel siguiera siendo un firme favoritos entre los ex patriotas jamaicanos, la explosi\u00f3n de reggae de 1969 expuso su trabajo a un p\u00fablico m\u00e1s amplio, con producciones para Doctor Bird, Pama y Trojan Records que lo establecieron como un h\u00e9roe musical para muchos de las j\u00f3venes clases trabajadoras blancas de Gran Breta\u00f1a, especialmente aquellas que hab\u00edan adoptado un estilo de moda denominado por la prensa nacional como ‘skinhead’. Este set de 5CD recopila todas sus producci\u00f3nes del cantante, singles de 7 “entre 1969 y 1970, con el set que incluye grandes \u00e9xitos junto con rarezas perdidas hace mucho tiempo y temas no editados que hacen su debut en CD.
\n tambi\u00e9n presenta grabaciones que produjo para otros artistas con sede en el Reino Unido, incluye Rico, Winston Groovy, Pama Dice, las Pir\u00e1mids, los Cimarons y los Rudies.
